What is travel? Travelling is being able to go from one to place to another that normally is over a distance of some length. Travelling is being able to see the world at its full visiting different regions, continents and get a taste of different cultures. Due to there being many different forms of travelling such as backpacking, camping or just going for a holiday resort break everyone can experience their own form of travel.
Holiday Destination: Algarve, Vilamoura
This is a great holiday destination for families, couples and golfers to travel to on their holidays or weekend breaks during the warm seasonal periods. The Vilamoura resort is located in the Algarve region of south Portugal the destination hotspot is around a 30-45 minute taxi journey from Faro airport this would cost around €40- €60 depending on where the destination is. The recommendation to travel during seasonal breaks depends on what you are looking for temperature wise as during the starting months of the year temperatures are normally quite low with a high being 15°C pushing 20°C on a good day, the peak summers month for Vilamoura are from June to the start of September with a high of 30°C during this time of year which can be a struggle for those who can't deal with heat very well, moving on to October to December this is known as the quiet months in this region, due to many shops and marina fronts closing for this time period due to the low number of tourists therefore its not really recommended to visit during these months. though the temperatures during this time is maximum 20°C as a high on a very good day with 13°C being the average.
What to do?
Golfing
The Vilamoura resort is known for vibrant atmosphere and welcoming feeling from the locals day and night, the hotspot location offers a various range of activities to do during the stay. The popular go to activities is for the golfers as the resort offers a range of different various golf courses that offer amazing views, there is 6 golf courses in the area with some of the most popular ones being Vale do Lobo, Dome Pedro golf collection and Quinta da Lago.
Marina
If you are not for the golfing experience then there's plenty activities that make will make the holiday memorable, exploring the marina itself looking at the stunning marina that holds chartered yachts that are available to rent for the day to sail along the beautiful coastline, though from time to time car competitions are held during the summer months showing old vintage and modern cars. The marina shows of its colourful array of shops that are along the whole marina offering their own little taste of Portugal to the tourists. Lets not forget the resultants along the marina with there being some Michelin star restaurants and if you aren't into a 3 course meal there is also restaurants that offer pub grub as well such as the 19th Hole, recommended restaurants to try is Rare steakhouse, Zu Yi Chinese and Prime bar these are just some of the places that the marina offer and for those families that have children there is also a Pizza Hut on the marina and Mcdonald's just behind the main marina.
Boat trip or Water sports
The marina can be a night time thing to do during the stay watching the sunset go down at night which means there is a whole day to fill up with activities to do such as taking a boat trip to look at the golden beaches and sky blue water with the boat trips offering the chance to explore at unique hidden caves such as the picturesque cliffs or the Benagil cave this would take up a full day but it is worth it seeing the stunning views and creations of the world. Vilamoura offer water sports along the beaches that have adrenaline pumping and thrill seeking activities to try which include renting out a jet ski roaming around the coast on a jet ski looking at the beauty of Vilamoura, it also offers a parasailing being lifted up into the air looking at the breathtaking view of the resort. There are water sports centres with professional instructors that have the equipment to make sure that Vilamoura provides a safe and adrenaline pumping experience for visitors all ages.
Beach relaxation
Hit the beach! Escape an active day out and relax on Vilamoura various range of beaches that it offers that caters to all ages and budgets, Praia da Falesia is one of most popular and prominent beaches that Vilamoura offers with the beach extending along the coastline. Simply just sitting in the scorching sun admiring the bright blue Skys and clear blue sea with the odd stroll along the shoreline getting a refreshing feeling from the sea, this beach is a relaxation gem. For those seeking a livelier atmosphere Praia de Vilamoura is active beach that's located just adjacent from the marina this offers those water sport activities. There is nothing better than having a thrilling day out in the sea than coming back and refreshing up in the beach front bars or local restaurants indulging in the fresh seafood that they offer or a nice pub grub snack to help re-energise for the day ahead.
Hotel Recommendation: Tivoli Hotel
Accommodation is a major factor when booking a holiday and it comes down to many factors price, rating and location depending on the budgets that are set for the holiday depends on the accommodation. In Vilamoura hotels and apartments situated on the marina front tend to be more expensive than the ones that are a few streets behind the marina front.
Price
The Tivoli hotel is a 5 star hotel located right on the marina and beach therefore its price is high, though after personal experiences staying there it is definitely worth the money that its charging for the experience. During peak summer season the hotel rooms are charged at €331.48 per night in the starting months of the new which is from March to May the rooms are charged €252.05 per night, in the later months of the year end of September onwards the price is €308.08 per night. Tivoli hotel is a great hotel to book if it meets budgets that are set for the holiday as the amenities it has and the location it couldn't get any better than the hotel.
Hotel Rooms
Experiencing staying in the Tivoli over a number of years I've had the privilege to stay in various rooms that the hotel offer. Without a doubt every time the Tivoli hotel never disappoint with their rooms, after having a long day doing activities or absorbing the sun going back to the hotel room is that relaxation period everyone needs when on holiday, that 1-2 hour period of relaxation in the room is like a holiday itself that is vital in ensuring that you can carry on exploring the beautiful marina life at night. These luxury hotel rooms come with amenities from having phenomenal balcony views of either the ocean or the marina, free wifi, flat screen tv, coffee machine to a mini bar though depending on the room certain rooms have extra living space.
There is a wide range of rooms that this magnificent hotel offer with the standard room being the Premium PuroBeach Marina or Ocean view which includes all the basic items in a room ranging from a flat screen tv, to toiletry products including a bathrobe, air conditioning and a new added feature a sun lounger on the balcony. It also provides a welcome drink in the room everyday after housekeeping has cleaned the room and refills in the mini bar once items have been used.
Junior Suite with sea view or marina view is the upgrade room to the PuroBeach room, the junior suite room offers the same as the standard room but these type of rooms are located on the highest floors which make the view of the sea and marina dazzling and astounding. The junior suite offers a bit more living space in its environment by having its own separate living room in it, despite having its own living space the hotel provide a 50 minute Tivoli Fusion signature massage to its customers staying in this room, the room does hold up till 4 people unlike the standard room which only holds up til 2 people. Though since this is a suite it can be out of some budgets which is very understandable.
Family room with view, this room is the same as the other views as it can be either sea or marina though the room does feature a double and a sofa bed with the choice of choosing either a bath or shower, it was designed for cosy family holidays and holds up to 5 people in this room. The unique feature that this room offers is that it has its own terrace with its own furniture which includes 2 sofas a table and a parasol. The family rooms means that instead of going to the pool or beach for the day catching the sun in your living quarters isn't a problem at all due to the terrace fulfilling all those needs spectacular view, room service, sun beaming everything is there within the living space.
Restaurants
Tivoli has 3 restaurants located on the complex the first restaurant is the pool side bar D'Azur this offers a range of pub grub food ranging from burgers, to sandwiches and toasties this is just a light snack they offer while sitting at the pool in the sorting sun. The pool side bar also provides all different ranges of drinks from wines, beers to cocktails it also provides desserts to help freshen up with a bit of sweetness during the day. Oregano is the second restaurant which is located beside the pool area too this offers more a Mediterranean style of food using local seasonal ingredients to create that satisfying affect for those that try their dishes. Oregano is more of a buffet style restaurant where it's up to the those staying in the hotel they pick what they want to eat.
The third and final restaurant is Pepper's Steakhouse this is an elegant restaurant that provides a marina view while eating. Pepper's is a Michelin star restaurant that create mouth watery dishes that are out of this world. Pepper's steakhouse menu covers a lot of different dishes whether its a meat dish such as steak or whether its to change it up and go for the freshly caught seafood, it does offer burgers and other appetisers cold and hot. It is definitely worth the travel to experience luxury and rich food, there is no preferences other than enjoy your food, time and company, it does cater to all ages.
